Our Story
When the original 2nd Swing opened back in 1997, it was founded on one simplistic principle: “Go the extra distance for each and every customer”. Our entire philosophy was rooted in providing superior service by focusing on customer’s as individuals and trying to find equipment that best fit their game. We developed a strong following early on, and word spread about this great new company that had a wide assortment of pre-swung golf equipment and excellent customer service. We took great pride in that!
However, as the company grew and the original founding team moved on to other endeavors, the company lost sight of its founding principle to “Go the extra distance for each and every customer”. Pricing became inconsistent and the company put a lot of time and money into developing other areas of the business. Put simply the company lost focus and many of its most dedicated customers became disappointed and left. Subsequently the old 2nd Swing struggled and filed for bankruptcy.
The original founding team that you grew to know and trust saw this as a huge opportunity and is back! We remember all the satisfied customers that used to come into our stores on a frequent basis, occasionally to shop, but more often to shoot the breeze and talk about the sport we love. Customers loved our stores and we were saddened to see the company change. So, consider the new 2nd Swing to be a grass roots effort. We’re going back to the basics of what the company was originally founded on, focusing on each individual customer and going the extra distance for them.
And now we’re better! Throughout the growth of the original 2nd Swing, we learned a few things and picked up some new capabilities. Most notably, we now have an even wider assortment of pre-swung equipment at consistently competitive prices. From unique one-of-a-kind prototype and tour issued clubs to equipment from the days of old, you now have more to choose from than ever before. We also have a refined demo program that allows customers to try nearly every club in the store in real life conditions – something no other retailer has. Yet we’re still looking for ways to better serve our customers – we know today’s customer demands more. To make shopping even more convenient, we’ve began selling equipment on eBay. Additionally, we’re developing a way to sell via our website, giving real time visibility to our stores’ inventory. While we think these online venues are a great way to better serve our customers, we still relish in seeing you walk through our door.
