"There are no shortcuts in the quest for perfection," this was the motto that Ben Hogan himself came up with when he started his own golf club company Ben Hogan Golf. When it first started production in 1954, the idea was to make clubs that where geared towards the better player with clubs that had a lot of feel and great workability. Not only did Ben Hogan Golf succeed in that area, but they went even further and started making game improvement golf clubs as well. The company broke into the golf industry with the Apex line.
The original Apex irons along with the Apex Edge, Apex Plus, Apex FTX, and Apex Forged are some of the best iron sets in terms of soft feel and the ability to shape shots. The clean muscleback design with soft forged club heads is what makes these irons so sought after by players even today.
While Ben Hogan Golf is mostly known for their high quality irons, they did come out with some excellent woods and hybrids including the Big Ben CS-3 Driver, the Big Ben C455 Fairway, and Edge CFT Hybrid. The Compression Forged Titanium face in the Edge CFT and Edge CFT Titanium hybrids allows for increased forgiveness and playability. Those two hybrids have been extremely popular over the years.
Perhaps the most innovative accomplishment that the Ben Hogan Golf company made was partnering with Bettinardi Putter to create a line of Ben Hogan Bettinardi putters. These putters were of high quality and featured some of the best precision milling of any putters around. From the mallet models including the Baby Ben, BHB11-Hawk, and Big Ben putters, to the traditional blade style putters like the BHB1-C, BHB2-X, and the BHB5-CC, these putters inspired confidence with their soft feel and clean looks. Ben Hogan Golf always strived to achieve the most refined clubs on the market, which is why so many players look to add them to their golf bag.
