Welcome back to another edition of the Sunday Swing presented by 2nd Swing Golf. This week, the PGA Tour took on TPC Craig Ranch for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, held just north of Dallas. Early-week rain softened up the course during tournament play, resulting in a birdie-fest and some very low scores. 

Wyndham Clark became a household name a couple of years ago, winning his first major at the 2023 US Open and following that up with a win at Pebble Beach in 2024. Since then, however, Clark has struggled. He went winless in 2025 and had not recorded a top 10 finish in 12 events in 2026 before this week. With that said, a recent putter change had Clark’s game on the rise, and everything clicked this week at TPC Craig Ranch. 

Clark opened with a round of 66 (-5), which remarkably turned out to be his worst score of the week. He followed that up with a 63 on Friday to put himself at 13-under-par through 36 holes. Still, he was five shots behind Si Woo Kim, and tied with a host of others including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. 

On Saturday, Clark kept pace with a 65, which matched Scheffler and allowed him to close the gap between he and Kim. But the story this week is Clark’s final round in which he took hold of the tournament and never gave it up. 

To open the front nine, Clark made birdie on four of the first six holes, vaulting him into a tie with Kim for the lead. Then, Clark missed a putt from less than five feet for birdie on the par-5 ninth, which briefly provided the rest of the field a glimmer of hope. But they had no idea what Clark was about to do on the back nine. 

The major winner caught fire, making five birdies and an eagle to shoot 28 (-7) and run away from the pack. In the end it was a final-round 60 that lifted Clark to an incredible 30-under-par and three clear of runner-up Kim.  

It’s the fourth career PGA Tour win for Clark and his first since early in the 2024 season.

Wyndham Clark found the magic formula this week at TPC Craig Ranch, capping a remarkable week of golf with a final-round score of 60 that put him 30-under-par for the week. The equipment free agent has been tinkering for much of the season, but seems to have settled on a winning setup that includes several different brands.

Clark has been swapping driver setups in and out of the bag all season. He worked with the TaylorMade team this week to dial in another unique setup featuring a Qi4D clubhead and the new Project X Titan yellow shaft. Of note, Clark prefers to see an open clubface at address, so his Qi4D clubhead features heavier 9-gram weights in both heel ports on the head. He finished the week No. 6 in strokes gained off the tee.

Despite owning one of the faster clubhead speeds on tour, Clark is yet another example of a tour pro opting for multiple fairway woods. He games the TaylorMade Qi4D Tour model for a 3-wood and the PING G440 Max as a 5-wood. He continues to employ Project X shafts in his fairway woods for a total of three Project X shafts in the bag.

Clark's irons feature another popular trend growing on tour: combo sets. Clark's combo features the prior-generation Titleist T200 as his 4-5 iron and the Titleist T100 irons making up the rest of his set. It was a fantastic approach week for Clark, who finished 11th in strokes gained approach and 7th in greens in regulation.

Clark is one of many tour pros gaming a Vokey wedge setup. For Clark, it's a four-wedge setup featuring three Titleist Vokey SM11 wedges and a custom WedgeWorks lob wedge. During a birdie fest like this tournament, getting up-and-down on the few missed greens is even more imperative. Clark went 13 for 15 scrambling this week, good for second in the field.

While Clark was one of the better ball-strikers at TPC Craig Ranch, it was his putter that allowed him to separate on the weekend. He gained over 12 strokes on the field alone with his putter, which is a new PING Scottsdale Tec Ally Blue Onset. Clark's model is built to fit the counterbalanced setup he prefers, similar to the one he used to win his US Open in 2023. It's at 38 inches in length with a 17-gram tip weight in the shaft.
