Callaway Steelhead XR Wedge

The newest addition to the XR family, The Callaway Steelhead XR Irons, combine the beautiful shaping and playability that made the Steelhead X-14 one of the most popular irons of all time. Paying special attention to some of the design aspects on the original Steelhead Iron, Callaway included a slightly longer blade length, and a slightly more rounded toe and the signature hosel-to-face transition. The speed and distance of Steelhead XR Irons is based on next-generation 360 Face Cup technology, which allows the edges of the ultra-thin face to freely flex and release at impact with greater efficiency, adding ball speed that promotes more distance, especially on off-center hits. The boost in face-speed is so significant that it’s hiked the COR up to almost .830 -- the USGA limit. More speed and distance on mis-hits is made possible by the modern Hollow Bore-Thru hosel design, which allowed Callaway engineers to remove useless weight from the hosel and reposition it in strategic areas within the head to: 1) Increase MOI for more forgiveness on mis-hits. 2) Precisely position the CG strategically in the long, middle and short irons. Steelhead XR long-irons feature an exceptionally low and far-back CG to make them easier to launch high and long. Middle-irons have an exceptionally low and mid-back CG to promote easy launch and keen control. Short-irons have a low and mid CG to make them easier to promote lower, high-spinning shots ideal for attacking the pin. Great feel and sound come from the new steel-infused polyurethane layer positioned low in the head, behind the lower portion of the face. In addition to absorbing unwanted impact vibration to promote a remarkably satisfying sound and feel at impact, it also helps lower the CG to promote faster ball speed and higher launch characteristics for more distance. Put it all together and you have an iron that delivers the finest combination of speed, forgiveness, distance and control to ever emerge from the Callaway R&D department. For a brand with Callaway’s history of innovation and performance, that’s saying a lot. Fitting MessageMake sure your Callaway irons are giving you the best possible performance. Our expert team is trained in Callaway products so they can help you choose the set that fits your game and swing type. They will also use top-of-the-line technology to analyze your swing and make club adjustments to optimize spin rates and trajectory to give you more consistent distances and accuracy from your new Callaway irons.

How are trade values determined?

Trade values are based on several factors such as demand, condition, release date and other resale factors. Pricing is updated regularly to ensure that you are receiving the highest trade-in value for your used clubs.

Does the condition of my used golf clubs affect the value?

Yes. The better the condition the higher value given for the item. Condition is evaluated by our knowledgeable staff and the used golf club(s) is priced accordingly.

  • Iron sets must contain a minimum of five (5) consecutive clubs with matching shafts, including a Pitching Wedge. If a PW is not included, you will be required to enter each of the irons individually.
  • Clubs that are stamped or engraved will be automatically receive the "Below Average" value.
  • Please provide us the information below to help expedite your quote: Please provide dates you need sets delivered to you.

Clubs that do not qualify:

What happens if there are any discrepancies?

If, upon inspection, 2nd Swing identifies any discrepancies (ex. wrong model, condition, missing clubs) we will email you to notify you of the discrepancy and the resulting value change (+/-), if any.

Do I need to include a headcover?

Golf club head covers, tool kits, torque wrenches, or other related accessories should be included whenever possible (though are not mandatory).

Why are there no values for my used golf clubs?

Not every golf club model can be given a market value and these items are typically: rare items, antique items, special or tour issue items and other very high-ticket items. If items are extremely old or damaged, they are also not assigned a market value. You are always welcome to contact our Service & Support team to inquire about the value of your item(s).

Golf Club Condition Guide

At 2nd Swing Golf, we work very hard to accurately rate our clubs according to our condition guide. Our golf club condition guide is as follows:

Brand New

The golf club is in brand new condition and has never been used on a golf course.

Shows virtually no traces of wear and has been hit 1-3 times total. It will be difficult to determine if it has been used.

Above Average

Golf club has been played less than 10 rounds and is in top of the line used condition.

This club has seen normal usage for an extended period of time, at least one season, has been well cared for, and is still in good used condition.

Below Average

This golf club has been well used, but not abused. Below average clubs offer a great value for someone who isn't as interested in cosmetics but cares about performance.

This golf club shows considerable wear but is usable.
