Cobra King F8 Driver

Who's It For?Of Cobra’s two KING F8 drivers, it’s the standard F8 that will fit the broader range of player, including both low- and high-handicappers depending on their needs. Most notably, the standard F8 is more forgiving than the F8+ and will also provide higher launch conditions, which will help average players and those with more modest swing speeds maximize carry distance. Additionally, its moveable weight capability will allow players who struggle to square the clubface at impact the ability to position weight toward the heel to help them release the toe of the club more easily through impact for straighter shots. That said, for golfers who need to lower their spin rates or for those who are looking for a flatter trajectory and added workability, the more compact, deeper-faced F8+ would likely prove to be a better option. The Tech StoryNot surprisingly, the F8 and F8+ drivers share similar technologies, but there are also differences between the two. Most notably, the F8, at 460cc, is larger than the 440cc F8+ and has a shallower clubface and wider profile. Also different is how the moveable weights in the sole of each driver can be positioned. In the F8, there is a front and a heel position in which players can utilize a 12-gram and two-gram weight to optimize their ball flight and launch conditions. With the heavier weight in the back position, a higher trajectory and more neutral ball flight will be the result, while moving the heavier weight to the heel position will create slightly lower launch conditions and more of a draw bias, which is ideal for players who might fight an open clubface at impact. Of course, the big technology story with the new KING F8 drivers is their CNC Precision Milled clubface. By machine milling the face as opposed to hand polishing it, inconsistencies related to face thickness are eliminated and Cobra can make the clubface thinner, with the result being more ball speed as well as more consistent flight conditions. The forged E9 clubface, in addition to being thinner, also provides an expanded sweet spot to help maintain ball speed on off-center strikes. Also of note, the use of a lightweight carbon crown allowed engineers to move the CG low and deep in the clubhead to produce higher launch conditions while also increasing MOI. Additionally, F8 drivers are more aerodynamic than their F7 predecessors, as polymer crown trips and titanium sole trips reduce air drag during the downswing to help players generate more clubhead speed. Cobra is also utilizing its MyFly8 adjustable hosel in the F8 drivers, which allows players to fine tune their launch conditions and achieve their preferred shot shape without having to manipulate face angle at address. And finally, F8 drivers also feature COBRA CONNECT technology, which is powered by Arccos and enables golfers to pair their driver with their smartphone through a sensor that’s embedded in the butt end of the grip to track stats, identify shot tendencies, and help them identify weaknesses. Golf Club Condition Guide

At 2nd Swing Golf, we work very hard to accurately rate our clubs according to our condition guide. Our golf club condition guide is as follows:

    Brand New

The golf club is in brand new condition and has never been used on a golf course.

    Mint

Shows virtually no traces of wear and has been hit 1-3 times total. It will be difficult to determine if it has been used.

    Above Average

Golf club has been played less than 10 rounds and is in top of the line used condition.

    Average

This club has seen normal usage for an extended period of time, at least one season, has been well cared for, and is still in good used condition.

    Below Average

This golf club has been well used, but not abused. Below average clubs offer a great value for someone who isn't as interested in cosmetics but cares about performance.

    Poor

This golf club shows considerable wear but is usable.
