Cobra King F8 One Length Iron Set

Who's It For?As was the case with many of its 2017 irons, Cobra is offering its new KING F8 irons in a One Length model. The idea behind One Length irons is that by having each club in the set play at the same length, golfers can utilize one setup position and one swing to hit shots with any club in their bag. Cobra believes that this approach can simplify the game and help golfers enjoy more consistent results, and it’s consistency that is usually at the top of the wish list in terms of what players want. In terms of the F8 irons specifically, the One Length model will offer the same game-improvement performance as the standard F8 version and these irons will be an excellent fit for mid- and high-handicap players, as well as those with slower swing speeds. For players who are skeptical of the One Length concept, however, they always have the option of buying a traditional progressive set of F8 irons. The Tech StoryCobra has leveraged its relationship with PGA Tour standout Bryson DeChambeau to bring the One Length iron approach that he favors and plays on Tour to the general public. While it might have seemed like a risk in theory, the One Length concept has proven successful for Cobra with recreational players. The biggest concern that many golfers have when it comes to One Length irons is how they will achieve proper yardage gaps through their set when each club is the length of a standard 7-iron. Loft is the most obvious way that proper distances are achieved, but Cobra also utilizes different head weights and CG positions to deliver optimal performance with each iron in the set. Beyond that, however, the One Length and standard version of the KING F8 irons will be the same in terms of technology, and the main technological advances in these irons were intended to deliver distance. The F8’s distance increases are made possible in several ways but most notably through a Forged Pwrshell clubface that features E9 Technology, which enables a clubface that’s 20 percent thinner and delivers faster ball speeds from all impact points. Additionally, the long and mid irons feature a fully hollow construction that promotes more distance, and the low-profile design of the F8 irons helps players generate more clubhead speed on the downswing to also help provide more yards. KING F8 irons also feature a progressive construction approach through the set. In addition to the long and mid irons being fully hollow, which allows weight to be pushed low and deep to not only promote fast ball speeds but also produce high launch and improved stability at impact, the short irons feature a traditional cavity construction that helps promote control. The F8 wedges, meanwhile, were designed to provide precision on shots played close to and around the greens. Also progressive through the set is the groove pattern, as the 4-6 irons have V Grooves that reduce spin to maximize distance while the 7-iron through pitching wedge have U grooves to provide the spin players need to better control their ball. Engineers also have utilized carbon fiber in the design of the F8 irons, positioning it behind the clubface to dampen vibrations at impact for enhanced sound and feel over what many game-improvement irons can offer. And finally, as is the case with the F8 wood lineup, COBRA CONNECT is a being featured with the F8 irons, as players can pair their smartphone with a sensor that has been embedded in the grip of their irons to track and save statistics while they play. Golf Club Condition Guide

At 2nd Swing Golf, we work very hard to accurately rate our clubs according to our condition guide. Our golf club condition guide is as follows:

    Brand New

The golf club is in brand new condition and has never been used on a golf course.

    Mint

Shows virtually no traces of wear and has been hit 1-3 times total. It will be difficult to determine if it has been used.

    Above Average

Golf club has been played less than 10 rounds and is in top of the line used condition.

    Average

This club has seen normal usage for an extended period of time, at least one season, has been well cared for, and is still in good used condition.

    Below Average

This golf club has been well used, but not abused. Below average clubs offer a great value for someone who isn't as interested in cosmetics but cares about performance.

    Poor

This golf club shows considerable wear but is usable.
