Who’s It For?

The PING G410 Crossover is another excellent choice for golfers attempting to fill the void between their fairway woods and mid-irons. As the name suggests, the G410 Crossover combines the workability and precision of an iron with the high launch and ball speed of a hybrid to create a high-performing utility club that is suitable for all skill levels. PING has made slight, but important, changes to the weighting and club head size in the G410 Crossover compared to the G400 Crossover for more forgiveness. Golfers searching for an emphasis in workability or a smaller profile will likely prefer the G410 Crossover, while players in search of an explosive launch and maximum forgiveness will likely prefer the G410 hybrid.

The Tech Story

The creation of a versatile club that combines the best characteristics of an iron and a hybrid predictably involves the best technologies from both types of clubs. The maraging steel face attached to the 17-4 stainless steel clubface optimizes ball speed and max height, just as it does on the G410 hybrid. The high-density tungsten weight is located on the toe of the club rather than deep in the sole like in the G410 hybrid. This is because the smaller iron-like clubhead requires the 30-gram weight, which is 50 percent more than the G400 Crossover, to be placed farther outside for ideal perimeter weighting. The clubhead was also shrunk by a quarter of an inch from heel to toe than the G400 Crossover to provide enhanced precision and a more iron-like head design. PING also included an internal rib structure inside the clubhead to stiffen the clubhead body and promote an iron-like sound and feel on every shot.
