Compared to the G440, the G740 features a 22% wider sole, 3% longer blade length, and a thicker topline, allowing for increased perimeter weighting and a lower center of gravity that boosts MOI for greater stability, higher launch, and improved ball-speed retention on mishits. The 5- and 6-irons incorporate a ¾-inch longer length progression to help players launch shots higher and farther, while a wider dual-camber sole positions the CG low and deep to promote consistent speed and easy launch, especially for golfers who tend to strike the ball low on the face. This sole design also improves turf interaction by helping the club move smoothly through the ground. A shallower face and shorter hosel save valuable mass that is redistributed into the cavity for improved forgiveness, sound, and feel, while the thin, flexible face works with a new three-piece PurFlex cavity badge to dampen vibrations and create a softer, more satisfying impact experience.
