Who’s It For?

The new PING PLD Prime Tyne 4 putter features an all-black look, including a black PVD finish, a black anodized hosel, a black PING midsize grip, and a stealth stepless steel shaft. The Tyne 4 clubhead design is a mallet with extra weighting behind the toe and heel for high MOI. Meanwhile, the short hosel is best for golfers with a slight arc in their putting strokes. 

The Tech Story

The new PING PLD Prime Tyne 4 putter is a completely milled putter design. The clubhead is milled from S25C carbon steel, while the hosel is milled T6 6061 aluminum. This design creates impeccable feel at impact. The milled clubface not only delivers superb soft feel, but it also helps create topspin and launch the ball on the intended line when struck. The clubhead is nearly identical to the clubhead of the PING Sigma 2 Tyne 4, but the Prime Tyne 4 is slightly more compact with a little less material behind the heel and toe than the Sigma 2 Tyne 4. Both, however, are designed to provide high MOI and ample forgiveness on off-center strikes. The short hosel design works best for golfers that have a slight arc in their putting strokes.
