Ping S55 Iron Set

When you get Bubba Watson to make a switch from his Masters-winning S59 irons -- during the FedEx Cup playoffs, no less -- and then he wins his second Masters with the new set, you know you’ve got a fantastic product on your hands . Enter the PING S55 irons, the players’ irons from the most technology-centric manufacturer in golf. With the popularity of PING’s previous model, the S56, the company was in no hurry to release another version until it could truly be said to increase performance in every facet, and they accomplished that with more workability and added forgiveness in a cavity-blade iron set for 10-and-under handicappers: the S55 irons. The S55 irons are one of the few iron sets that improves on the performance of its predecessor in both the forgiveness and control categories: the smaller clubhead is more workable but the precision weight placement makes them more forgiving at the same time. Consensus from Tour players like Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson is that the S55 irons fly farther yet feel softer than the S56’s. You’ll get a higher launch angle from the longer irons for more consistent performance on slightly off-center strikes. The shorter irons have a launch profile designed for more penetration and workability. Visually Smaller Clubhead –The S55 clubhead is only about the width of a paintjob smaller than the S56, but it looks more compact at address, which appeals to the discerning eye of a Tour-level player. Thinner Face, More Perimeter Weighting –PING engineers saved weight by thinning the face, then redistributed that weight to the sole and perimeter to make a more forgiving club with a lower center of gravity. Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) Badge –The cavity insert was switched to a TPE material that produces a better sound and a softer, more forged-like feel. 17-4 Stainless Steel Construction –The cavity insert was switched to a TPE material that produces a better sound and a softer, more forged-like feel. Single Stabilizing Bar –This switch from two bars in the S56 irons to one in the S55’s represents the streamlining to a simpler look and more effective performance demanded by better players. Satin Chrome Finish –A traditional look that radiates the playability and precision of a pure muscle iron. Fitting MessageNo two golfers have exactly the same swing, so why would they have the exact same clubs? PING revolutionized the golf club industry by introducing the idea that the everyday player, too, deserves custom fit clubs for their swing type, just like the pros. Our award winning fitters use PING nFlight technology to analyze your swing to determine the specifications your irons need to optimize carry distance, shot shape, trajectory and spin rates to improve your iron distance, control and consistency.

ANo. But 2nd Swing Golf consistently offers the highest trade-in values for used golf clubs.
Q What is the difference between the Trade-In Value and the Re-Sale Value of my used golf clubs?
AThe trade-in value is slightly higher than the resale price. You get more value for your used golf clubs when you trade-in toward other purchases.
Q Why are multiple values given for my used golf clubs?
AA range is given to you so you know what to expect without evaluating the 'condition' of the club.
Q Does the condition of my used golf clubs affect the value?
AYes. The better the condition the higher value given for the item. Condition is evaluated by our knowledgeable staff and the used golf club(s) is priced accordingly.
Q Why are there no values for my used golf clubs?
ANot every golf club model can be given a market value and these items are typically: rare items, antique items, special or tour issue items and other very high-ticket items. If items are extremely old or damaged, they are also not assigned a market value.

Shows virtually no traces of wear and has been hit 1-3 times total. It will be difficult to determine if it has been used.

Above Average

Golf club has been played less than 10 rounds and is in top of the line used condition.

This club has seen normal usage for an extended period of time, at least one season, has been well cared for, and is still in good used condition.

Below Average

This golf club has been well used, but not abused. Below average clubs offer a great value for someone who isn't as interested in cosmetics but cares about performance.
