It all began in San Antonio, Texas in 1963, when Ray Cook made his first club, the then popular Ray Cook M1 mallet putter. Soon after, Cook had designed and manufactured the industry’s first all-aluminum putter with grooves. After getting the idea from a college physics class, Cook realized that the same elements at work in the metal of tuning forks could be implemented in the production and design of putters. With these simple ideas in place Ray Cook putters dominated the PGA tour from the sixties to the eighties.
Originally popularized by such sixties celebs as Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, the Ray Cook name has become synonymous with classic putters. 2nd Swing carries a wide variety of used Ray Cook putters, each model designed to optimize putting for every different stroke.
