TaylorMade M5 Driver

Who’s It For?

TaylorMade shook the golf industry with its creation of Twist Face technology in the M3 and M4 series, which enhanced both distance and forgiveness through modifications to the clubface to counteract both the high-toe miss and the low-heel miss. With the M5 and M6 series, TaylorMade made further advancements to Twist Face to create Speed Injected Twist Face to maximize ball speed. The M5 driver is also the more customizable driver of the M5 and M6 series, offering 1,770 unique CG locations. Golfers of all skill levels and swing speeds will enjoy the benefits of the new TaylorMade M5 driver. Players searching for a lower-spinning option with a smaller address profile and increased workability may want to check out the M5 Tour driver. Meanwhile, golfers seeking more emphasis on forgiveness will enjoy the M6 driver, while golfers searching for draw bias may prefer the M6 D-Type driver.

The Tech Story

The most remarkable technology in the TaylorMade M5 driver is the Speed Injected Twist Face, which features a revolutionary new process of calibrating every individual head to the threshold of the legal speed limit allowed by the USGA and R&A. Each M5 driver has been designed with a thinner, more flexible face that actually produces a higher COR than the USGA and R&A limits before going through a tuning process in which they are adjusted for conformity and resin is injected for maximum speed. The injection process uses two new tuning ports located on the bottom corners of the face and a proprietary algorithm to ensure the perfect amount of resin is used to deliver the highest possible ball speed. The new face design also comes with a 20 percent reduction in thickness that results in a 66 percent larger sweet spot in the M5 drivers than the M3 models. The superb adjustability features are a result of TaylorMade’s Inverted T-Track, which replaces the Y-Track found in the M3 models. The allowance of 20 grams (two 10-gram weights) of movable weight allows for 1,770 unique configuration of heel-to-toe control and front-to-back CG adjustment. All in all, the Inverted T-Track allows the golfer to customize up to one degree of launch angle, 600 revolutions per minute of spin change and 25 yards of left-to-right adjustability. Additionally, the two-degree loft sleeve allows for loft, lie angle, and face angle adjustments of the driver. In terms of appearance, the new look of the M5 and M6 has drawn positive reviews from TaylorMade’s Tour staff thanks to a vibrant blood orange color and two-tone composite sole. The overall composite crown footprint has been increased by 10 percent for a powerful look at address. The larger footprint and the 460cc clubhead design naturally promote higher MOI and more forgiveness than the smaller 435cc clubhead of the M5 Tour, which emphasizes more workability and lower spin.

Trade values are based on several factors such as demand, condition, release date and other resale factors. Pricing is updated regularly to ensure that you are receiving the highest trade-in value for your used clubs.

Does the condition of my used golf clubs affect the value?

Yes. The better the condition the higher value given for the item. Condition is evaluated by our knowledgeable staff and the used golf club(s) is priced accordingly.

  • Iron sets must contain a minimum of five (5) consecutive clubs with matching shafts, including a Pitching Wedge. If a PW is not included, you will be required to enter each of the irons individually.
  • Clubs that are stamped or engraved will be automatically receive the "Below Average" value.
  • Please provide us the information below to help expedite your quote: Please provide dates you need sets delivered to you.

Clubs that do not qualify:

What happens if there are any discrepancies?

If, upon inspection, 2nd Swing identifies any discrepancies (ex. wrong model, condition, missing clubs) we will email you to notify you of the discrepancy and the resulting value change (+/-), if any.

Do I need to include a headcover?

Golf club head covers, tool kits, torque wrenches, or other related accessories should be included whenever possible (though are not mandatory).

Why are there no values for my used golf clubs?

Not every golf club model can be given a market value and these items are typically: rare items, antique items, special or tour issue items and other very high-ticket items. If items are extremely old or damaged, they are also not assigned a market value. You are always welcome to contact our Service & Support team to inquire about the value of your item(s).

Golf Club Condition Guide

At 2nd Swing Golf, we work very hard to accurately rate our clubs according to our condition guide. Our golf club condition guide is as follows:

Brand New

The golf club is in brand new condition and has never been used on a golf course.

Shows virtually no traces of wear and has been hit 1-3 times total. It will be difficult to determine if it has been used.

Above Average

Golf club has been played less than 10 rounds and is in top of the line used condition.

This club has seen normal usage for an extended period of time, at least one season, has been well cared for, and is still in good used condition.

Below Average

This golf club has been well used, but not abused. Below average clubs offer a great value for someone who isn't as interested in cosmetics but cares about performance.

This golf club shows considerable wear but is usable.
