Who’s It For?
Titleist emphasized ball speed enhancement in its development of the newest version of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls, which have consistently been among the best performance golf balls in the industry. The Urethane Elastomer cover system is 17 percent thinner while the ionomeric casing layer beneath the cover is 14 percent thicker in the Pro V1, a combination that delivers more ball speed and lower spin from the driver and longer clubs. Overall, the Pro V1 is a three-piece construction engineered for a lower flight than the Pro V1x with extremely soft feel around the greens. Players in search of a slightly firmer feel and a higher flight may prefer the four-piece Pro V1x.
The Tech Story
The new Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls include three primary improvements that will produce ball speed gains over previous models. First, Titleist’s thermoset urethane casting technology has permitted a 17 percent thinner layer of the proprietary cover formulation, which was developed exclusively for the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. The thinner cover results in more ball speed without the sacrifice of trusted Drop-and-Stop greenside control. Additionally, Titleist made the casing layer beneath the cover 14 percent thicker in the Pro V1, further enhancing ball speed and lowering spin on longer shots. The final primary innovation made for more ball speed in the Pro V1 is the new 2.0 ZG Process Core, which maintains a soft center while the outermost portions of the core have been stiffened to create a faster internal engine. These three innovations combine to produce the highest ball speeds ever from a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball. For the first time ever, the Pro V1 and Pro V1x will be available in a High Optic Yellow to meet the high demands by both professional and amateur players of the popular golf balls. The key difference between the two golf balls is that the Pro V1 is a three-piece construction that compresses less, therefore producing a lower trajectory and more short game spin, than the four-piece Pro V1x.
Facts and Figures
“When we set out to develop the 2019 models, we found that golfers at every level are extraordinarily satisfied with the performance of their Pro V1 or Pro V1x. At the same time, golfers keep telling us they would still like more distance -- as long as they don’t have to give anything else up. Through the prototyping process, our chemists and engineers discovered a way to cast an even thinner urethane cover, and therefore increase the percentage of speed-enhancing materials in the overall construction. Pro V1 and Pro V1x are now even faster, as a result, all while maintaining the scoring performance and feel characteristics that golfers demand from these golf balls.” -- Michael Mahoney, Titleist Vice President of Golf Ball Marketing.
“The 2019 Pro V1 for me is a home run. I’m getting the ball speed I had with the prior generation Pro V1x and more. Plus, the new Pro V1 feels softer to me around the green, which I prefer. Ball speed off the driver is a pretty hard and fast measurable whereas touch and feel around the green is player dependent. I go through a fairly rigorous testing process when it comes to new equipment, but it did not take long for me to put this ball into play seeing it gives me the best of both worlds.” -- Charles Howell III, three-time PGA Tour winner.

condition guide. Our golf club condition guide is as follows:
The golf club is in brand new condition and has never been used on a golf course.
Shows virtually no traces of wear and has been hit 1-3 times total. It will be difficult
to determine if it has been used.
Golf club has been played less than 10 rounds and is in top of the line used condition.
This club has seen normal usage for an extended period of time, at least one season, has
been well cared for, and is still in good used condition.
This golf club has been well used, but not abused. Below average clubs offer a great value
for someone who isn't as interested in cosmetics but cares about performance.
This golf club shows considerable wear but is usable.
