New in the 2020 Tour B series of golf balls is the REACTIV cover, which is designed to maximize both distance and spin at the same time. Of the four golf balls in the 2020 Tour B series, the Tour B X is the firmest and will work best for golfers with swing speeds over 105 miles per hour.
The Tech Story
Bridgestone’s new REACTIV cover was designed with the help of feedback from its tour staff that wanted to eliminate the choice between more distance or more spin. Bridgestone describes the new cover as a smart Urethane that acts as an impact modifier to deliver a shock-absorbing cover on slow impact for more spin and control and high resilience on high-impact shots for more power and distance. In other words, the cover reacts differently depending on the force of the impact. Meanwhile, a Gradational Compression core provides added initial ball speed and lower side spin on full swings. The unique Dual Dimple design improves aerodynamics and reduces drag to generate more carry distance in calm or windy conditions. Additionally, Bridgestone’s proprietary Seamless Cover technology produces a perfectly balanced dimple pattern that results in consistent flight and performance. The Tour B X golf ball is designed with the firmest compression, so high swing speed players that prefer a higher ball flight and firmer feel will gravitate toward it.
