What's In The Bag? | Russell Henley's Winning Clubs at the 2022 WWT Championship at Mayakoba
Russell Henley had been without a PGA Tour win for over five years despite numerous close calls. However, that drought ended on Sunday at the World Wide Technology at Mayakoba. Henley built a six-shot lead through 54 holes with a barrage of birdies, and only needed a final-round 70 to close out the tournament at 23-under-par and win by four shots over Brian Harman. Additionally, Scottie Scheffler fired a final-round 62 to sneak onto the podium in a tie for third at 18-under-par. It’s Henley’s fourth career PGA Tour win and a satisfying one after being in great position so many times the last few years.
Henley annually ranks as one of the best iron players on the PGA Tour by any measurement. However, it was his driver and his short game that powered him to victory at Mayakoba. Using his Titleist TSi3 Driver, Henley finished the week No. 2 in driving accuracy, hitting 44/56 (78.56%) of fairways. Plus, Henley was also No. 2 in scrambling, with a 90.48% up-and-down percentage, including a 100% up-and-down rate through the first three rounds.
