Titleist TS2 Fairway Wood

Who’s It For

Titleist has had tremendous success with its fairway woods through the years. That said, its R&D team believes the new TS2 fairway woods are the most forgiving it has ever created. Of course, that should make them a popular choice among a wide array of golfers, all of whom should should enjoy the improved performance on mis-hits, as well as a slightly larger profile that will make the TS2 fairway woods equally easy to hit from the turf or a tee. For those, however, who would like more shot-shaping ability and customization options to help them dial in their preferred trajectory, spin rates, launch conditions, and ball flight, the TS3 fairways will also be worth a closer look.

The Tech Story

As was the case during the development of the TS drivers, Titleist set out with the TS fairway woods to create more ball speed and distance for golfers of all ability levels. Both the TS2 and TS3 models feature a new, thinner clubface design that is creating faster ball speeds, but equally important is a modified Active Recoil Channel that is better helping to keep ball speeds up on off-center strikes. Additionally, a thinner crown construction, 30 percent thinner to be exact, allowed discretionary weight to be redistributed low and deep in the clubhead to dramatically increase MOI, which provides improved performance on shots played from the heel or toe, as well as low on the face. Specific to the TS2 fairways is a modern shape and footprint that has been expanded back to offer added forgiveness regardless of strike location, as well as a fixed CG position that offers players high launch and low spin to maximize carry and total distance. And finally, Titleist is once again offering its SureFit Hosel, which allows for independent loft and lie adjustment and 16 unique settings to help golfers create the exact trajectory and shot shape that they’re looking for.
