Callaway’s 2019 Big Bertha hybrids were created to make the game easier for players of all ability levels by offering high launch conditions, impressive ball speeds, and significant forgiveness on off-center strikes. Callaway is offering the new Big Bertha hybrids in a 3H through 8H model and with an adjustable hosel, which will allow golfers to fill any gap they might have in their bag and also use Big Bertha hybrids as mid-iron replacements. From a profile standpoint, the Big Bertha hybrids would fall on the larger side of the spectrum, so players who are looking for a more compact shape and potentially more workability might also want to consider the Rogue or Apex hybrids.

The Tech Story

The new 2019 Big Bertha hybrids are loaded with every technological innovation that Callaway has to offer in a hybrid, with highly popular Jailbreak Technology headlining the list. More specifically, two internal bars connect the crown and the sole, which stiffens the body of the club to provide maximum energy transfer at impact for faster ball speeds. Also contributing to the impressive ball speeds that the new Big Bertha hybrids produce is a thin 455 Carpenter steel clubface and Hyper Speed Face Cup, the latter of which expands each hybrid’s sweet spot to better protect ball speed on off-center strikes. The shaping of the Big Bertha hybrids has also been modified to not only look sharp at address but also increase MOI by moving weight to the perimeter of the clubhead, and a new, lightweight adjustable hosel has been created that enables an optimal CG position to be maintained while still giving players the ability to fine tune their preferred launch conditions, carry distances, and shot shape.
