Who’s It For?

Callaway Golf has always delivered when it comes to irons, and that extends to utility irons. The newest model from Callaway is the X Forged Utility, which includes many of the same features as the X Forged CB irons but in a more explosive package. The X Forged Utility iron is designed to help golfers bridge the gap between the fairway woods and irons in their bags. This utility iron will be especially useful for high-speed players that struggle with a hybrid at this part of the bag.

The Tech Story

The new 2021 X Forged Utility iron looks very similar to the X Forged CB irons and also has many of the same features. The body of the club is hollow, but it’s forged from 1025 carbon steel to provide that soft feel. Meanwhile, Callaway’s innovations with Artificial Intelligence have been wildly successful and they’ve included it in this club in the form of the Flash Face Cup clubface. Just like the X Forged CB irons, the X Forged Utility features external MIM’d tungsten weighting that allows for precise swingweight adjustments without sacrificing the center of gravity. With that said, the X Forged Utility iron has a longer blade length and a wider sole that offers added forgiveness that is needed for longer shots.
