Who’s It For?

The new Blueprint S Irons are PING’s latest players iron, and while they have all of the classic features of a traditional players iron, the Blueprint S’s deviate away from the original Blueprint irons with a cavity-style head. Feel and workability remain important tenets of the Blueprint S irons, but come with more forgiveness than their predecessor, making them an iron for consistent ball-strikers who still favor that feel and workability, but are looking for a slightly more forgiving option than a true blade.

The Tech Story

The Blueprint S’s feature a fully forged 8620 carbon steel head with a clean hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish. The cavity-style is present in all irons in the set, though the long irons (3-5) contain a patented precision-pocket forging, which saves 10 grams of weight, and increases forgiveness. Minimal offset and a thin top-line give the Blueprint S’s a pleasing sightline at address. The Blueprint S’s can come in three different specs: Standard, Power (stronger lofts), and Retro (weaker lofts). Combination sets have become the norm across all manufacturers, and the Blueprint S’s along with its Blueprint T relative, and the Ping i230 are all designed with the same lofts, allowing for golfers to blend their Blueprint S’s with other models for a perfect set tailored to each golfer.
