TaylorMade 2019 M2 Single Iron
Who’s It For?
Distance has been the driving force of TaylorMade equipment for decades, whether it be drivers, fairway woods, or iron sets. The original M2 irons were no exception, delivering an excellent combination of distance and forgiveness. TaylorMade has released an updated version of the M2 irons in 2019 that takes distance, height, and forgiveness to a new level. These irons will work best for mid- to high-handicap golfers looking for added distance from their irons.
The Tech Story
According to TaylorMade, the M2 irons give golfers a complete performance package that features a low center of gravity, Speed Pocket technology, and Geocoustic Engineering. The low center of gravity is provided by perimeter weighting, much of which is positioned in the sole. The larger footprint and thicker toplines work with the low center of gravity to provide excellent forgiveness on mis-hits and higher launch than the previous M2 irons. TaylorMade has also incorporated a new thin-wall Speed Pocket, which is designed to increase face flexibility and protect ball speed on strikes made outside of the center of the clubface. The new Speed Pocket also increases launch angle and ball speed, helping golfers hit the ball farther and land it softer on the green. Lastly, the new M2 irons are built with Geocoustic engineering techniques. This construction produced acoustics that have been fine-tuned through geometry to create ideal frequencies for excellent sound and feel.
