Who’s It For?

Titleist has long been known as one of the premier manufacturers of iron sets in the world. New to the market in August 2019 are Titleist’s T-Series irons, which include options for golfers of all experience and skill levels. The T100 irons, specifically, are built with a forged construction and little offset, so they will work best for consistent ball strikers with a single-digit handicap or better. Golfers in search of an emphasis on distance and forgiveness in a thicker clubhead design will gravitate toward the T300 irons. Meanwhile, golfers looking for similar distance and forgiveness tendencies to the T300s but in a smaller clubhead size may like the T200 irons.

The Tech Story

The technology and construction behind the Titleist T100 irons delivers Tour-like performance, both in terms of shot workability and feel, in a shallow cavity design. Three-time major champion Jordan Spieth, among many other Titleist staff professionals, put the new T100 irons in his bag immediately when they became available. The irons are progressively built with more game-improvement characteristics in the longer irons to provide golfers with added forgiveness when they need it, while maintaining workability and precision with the shorter clubs. For example, Titleist used a spring steel body to construct the longer irons in the set (3-iron through 6-iron) to promote slightly more face flexing at impact. Meanwhile, Titleist also implemented additional tungsten weighting in the heel and toe areas of the longer irons to add forgiveness on off-center strikes. Throughout the set, golfers will find that the compact clubhead shape produces excellent workability and pleasing aesthetics. The T100 irons include thin toplines and sole widths with slight offset, resulting in a look that pleases the eye of a consistent ball striker.

Titleist T100 vs. T100S Irons | Power Spec Fitting | Trackman Test

The Titleist T100 and Titleist T100S irons are each designed for consistent ball-strikers, featuring a forged shallow cavity construction. However, the T100S model does have two fewer degrees of loft at each club, which can create differences in spin and distance, among other things. In this video, 2nd Swing master fitter Thomas Campbell compares the Titleist T100 vs. T100S irons and breaks down the advantages and disadvantages of power spec fitting using Trackman technology.
