Ping G400 Max Driver

Who's It For?The description that PING offers for the G400 MAX driver would lead many to believe that this is simply a game-improvement driver that was created for higher-handicap players. And with nearly 10,000 combined MOI points, this is certainly a driver that will help mid- and high-handicappers hit the ball straighter and keep the ball in play more often. That said, a significant number of PING’s touring professionals are also experimenting with the MAX because in addition to being extremely forgiving it looks good, sounds good, and provides exceptional distance. Add it all up and this is a driver that any golfer could play and it’s a driver that’s going to wind up in a lot of golf bags in the coming months. The Tech StoryMuch of the technology that has made PING’s G400 one of the most popular driver lines in the game today remains in tact with the new G400 MAX. But there are some differences as well. Most notably, the MAX is 460cc while the other three G400 models are 445cc. In terms of aesthetics, the difference can most easily be seen in the MAX’s deeper profile, but this is still a driver that looks fast and sleek at address. The G400 also features a lighter PVD finish that provides a more dramatic contrast between the face and crown at address. And finally, the fixed tungsten weight that has been positioned low and deep in the clubhead is twice as heavy as the weight in standard G400, which creates the deepest CG position ever for a PING driver and incredible stability at impact. All that said, players will still see PING’s trademark turbulators on the crown, which reduce air drag by 40 percent in the downswing and 15 percent overall to promote swing speed increases. A new, forged clubface construction, meanwhile, undergoes a patented heat treatment that enables a face that flexes 16 percent more at impact to create more ball speed and distance from all impact points. Additionally, PING’s revolutionary DragonFly Technology utilizes an ultra-thin crown and skirt to save weight, which along with the aforementioned use of more tungsten enables the center of gravity to be positioned even lower and deeper in the clubhead than is the case with the other G400 models. Engineers have also utilized a new internal architecture to deliver a deep, muted sound and feel at impact that is significantly different than what players experienced with past PING driver releases, including most recently the G and G30 series. Does the condition of my used golf clubs affect the value?

Yes. The better the condition the higher value given for the item. Condition is evaluated by our knowledgeable staff and the used golf club(s) is priced accordingly.

Do I need to include a headcover?

Golf club head covers, tool kits, torque wrenches, or other related accessories should be included whenever possible (though are not mandatory).

Why are there no values for my used golf clubs?

Not every golf club model can be given a market value and these items are typically: rare items, antique items, special or tour issue items and other very high-ticket items. If items are extremely old or damaged, they are also not assigned a market value. You are always welcome to contact our Service & Support team to inquire about the value of your item(s).

Golf Club Condition Guide

At 2nd Swing Golf, we work very hard to accurately rate our clubs according to our condition guide. Our golf club condition guide is as follows:

Brand New

The golf club is in brand new condition and has never been used on a golf course.

Mint

Shows virtually no traces of wear and has been hit 1-3 times total. It will be difficult to determine if it has been used.

Above Average

Golf club has been played less than 10 rounds and is in top of the line used condition.

Average

This club has seen normal usage for an extended period of time, at least one season, has been well cared for, and is still in good used condition.

Below Average

This golf club has been well used, but not abused. Below average clubs offer a great value for someone who isn't as interested in cosmetics but cares about performance.

Poor

This golf club shows considerable wear but is usable.
