TaylorMade SIM Ti Fairway Wood
Who’s It For?
TaylorMade has risen to the top of the ranks in the golf industry, especially when it comes to metalwoods. Every year the golf community waits in eager anticipation for what TaylorMade will do next with drivers and fairway woods. In 2020, TaylorMade has transitioned away from the M family and introduced the SIM series. The SIM Ti fairway wood features a unique, multi-material construction designed to maximize performance. Golfers who prefer a slightly smaller footprint or lower spin from a fairway wood will prefer the SIM Ti fairway wood. Those seeking maximum forgiveness and high MOI might like the SIM Max fairway wood, while others struggling with a slice or block miss will want to try the SIM Max D-Type fairway wood.
The Tech Story
Headlining the TaylorMade SIM Ti fairway wood is the unique multi-material construction that consists of carbon, titanium, and an 80-gram steel soleplate. This construction has allowed TaylorMade to precisely position the center of gravity to achieve explosive distance, high launch, and low spin. The SIM Ti fairway wood also features a ZATECH ultra-strong titanium face, which allows for more efficient energy transfer at impact and better performance on both center and off-center contact. Several other technologies are returning to the SIM Ti fairway wood from previous models. Twist Face technology features a clubface that is slightly twisted in the heel and toe areas to combat those common misses. The Next Gen Speed Pocket has been specially designed for SIM to help with low-face mis-hits. The V Steel sole design, which was first introduced in the mid-2000s, reduces friction through the turf to improve performance from tight or difficult lies. And finally, the TaylorMade SIM Ti fairway woods include a 2-degree loft sleeve to provide golfers with optimization options to trajectory and face angle.
