Mizuno has vaulted itself into the American golf ball market for the first time with the introduction of the RB Tour and RB Tour X golf balls. These golf balls use Mizuno’s deep research of wind aerodynamics to create a unique dimple pattern that drags less and carries farther. Each model is also equipped with a four-piece construction and a urethane cover for maximum greenside feel and control. The RB Tour specifically is the softer-compression option of the two, so it will produce flatter trajectories and extremely soft feel around the greens. Those searching for a firmer feel and higher launch may prefer the RB Tour X.

The Tech Story

Mizuno has selected an excellent time to make its golf balls available in the United States with the release of the RB Tour and RB Tour X. Both options offer similar characteristics found with other Tour golf ball options, such as a soft urethane cover and a four-piece, dual-core construction that becomes gradually firmer toward the perimeter that provides premium feel. What makes the RB Tour and RB Tour X unique, however, is the 360 dimple pattern. Mizuno has allocated extensive research and testing at the Mizuno Technics laboratory wind tunnel to identify what dimple patterns ultimately fly through the air the best. The research suggested that arranging smaller dimples in between larger dimples offers the most drag-reducing aerodynamics, thus allowing Mizuno to increase both carry distance and accuracy without taking away from the soft feel characteristics. Between the RB Tour and RB Tour X, the RB Tour is the softer option, so it will inherently produce a flatter trajectory and offer more greenside spin than the RB Tour X.
