Stephan Jaeger is the latest golfer to collect his first PGA Tour win after holding off Scottie Scheffler and a handful of others for a one-stroke victory at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Jaeger’s winning bag featured plenty of PING clubs including an older iron set. He mixed those PING clubs with a Callaway fairway wood, Vokey wedges and an Odyssey putter.

Jaeger starts his bag off with a PING G430 LST driver, playing it at 9 degrees with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 60 TX shaft. Jaeger tied for 37th in Strokes Gained Off the Tee, gaining 0.946 strokes on the field. Fueling his Strokes Gained Off the Tee number was his distance, where Jaeger finished 12th in the field, averaging 320.3 yards off the tee for the tournament. He was decently accurate as well, finding 29 of 52 fairways, which was 32nd best for the tournament. But Jaeger's driver was at its best during the final round where he was 6th for the day in Strokes Gained Off the Tee.

Moving into his fairway woods, Jaeger mixes things up, both in style and in brands. He plays the new Callaway Paradym Ai-Smoke Triple Diamond for his 3-wood with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 8 X shaft in it. Instead of a more traditional 5-wood, Jaeger opts for a 7-wood, and goes back a generation for it, gaming a PING G425 Max. His 3-wood is a low-spinning option, designed for distance and workability, while his 7-wood is a more forgiving, higher-launching option. This combination gives him versatility in how he attacks holes from distance and also gives him some more options off the tee to use.

Irons: PING s55 (4-PW)

Most of Jaeger’s bag features the newest releases no matter the manufacturer, with his irons being the biggest exception to that rule as he plays PING s55 irons, which were released in 2013! Even though they’re an older iron, the s55's have been played by many PGA Tour players, with Matt Fitzpatrick the most notable name among those players. For Jaeger, his irons were solid, but not spectacular. He finished 37th in Strokes Gained Approach to Green, and tied for 24th in Greens in Regulation hit, finding just over 68 percent for the tournament. But they were good enough to set up the strength of his game, his short game.

Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design SM10 (49, 53, 57 Degrees)

Jaeger’s bag gets stronger the closer to the green you get. What makes his wedge setup interesting is the lofts he plays them at. He plays a 50 and 54 degree with each bent down a degree, while he bends a 56 degree bent up to 57 degrees. He still maintains the typical four degrees of loft between wedges, but just goes about it in a different way. Though they may be setup differently than most would have it, his Vokey SM10's were great throughout the tournament. They played their part in his GIR percentage and in his Strokes Gained Approach to Green numbers, but around the green is where Jaeger’s wedge play shined. He finished 9th in Strokes Gained Around the Green, and 12th in scrambling percentage, getting up and down on 17 of his 23 opportunities.

If his wedge game was great, Jaeger’s putting was sensational. Playing with the Ai-One 2-Ball, the latest release from Odyssey, Jaeger finished 3rd in the field in Strokes Gained Putting, gaining 6.394 strokes on the field on the putting surface. Jaeger finished 2nd in Total Putts, averaging 27.25 putts per round, while his 1.69 putts per GIR was 9th best. While he wasn’t making as many putts as we would have liked on Sunday, he was able to limit the number of putts he was hitting, finishing with just 26 putts in the final round, which was 2nd best, and played a key part in him finding the winner’s circle on the PGA Tour for the very first time.
