Cobra F-Max Superlite Offset Driver
Who’s It For
Cobra’s new FMAX Superlite line of golf clubs was created to give golfers with more moderate swing speeds the chance to generate more distance. Distance is most important when it comes to the driver, of course, and the FMAX Superlite driver is the lightest driver that Cobra has ever engineered. The FMAX Superlite offset version will be a great option for golfers who fight a slice or a block and also need help with distance and the ability to get the ball in the air more easily. More those, however, who don’t fight a miss to the right, Cobra also offers the FMAX Superlite driver in a straight neck version.
The Tech Story
What Cobra has done from a weighting standpoint is the key story when it comes to the technology of the FMAX Superlite driver. With a clubhead that’s six grams lighter, a shaft that’s five grams lighter, and a grip that’s seven grams lighter than the previous FMAX generation driver, engineers were able to create a driver for players with slow-to-average clubhead speeds that’s easier to swing, with the result being more distance and higher launch conditions. Also contributing to the distance that the FMAX Superlite driver provides is a thinner Forged E9 clubface that also utilizes a variable face thickness construction to provide faster ball speeds on mis-hits. Additionally, weight that has been positioned low and deep in the clubhead and slightly toward the heel through the use of an internal weight pad, which provides increased MOI and helps players launch the ball high and square the clubface at impact.
