The Ping 2016 G Driver integrates several aerodynamic and mass-saving technologies to deliver maximum distance and forgiveness. The foundation is Dragonfly Technology, which removes eight grams of weight from the Ti 8-1-1 crown by creating ultra-thin sections, allowing for an Extreme Low/Back Center of Gravity (CG); this deep CG placement elevates the Moment of Inertia (MOI) significantly on both axes for maximized forgiveness and optimal high launch/low spin. Speed is actively increased via Less Drag, where Crown Turbulators and Vortec Technology work together to reduce turbulent wake during the downswing, increasing clubhead speed and ball velocity for greater distance from all swing speeds. Furthermore, the Variable-Thickness T9S Face utilizes a high strength-to-weight ratio to create a thinner, lighter, and hotter hitting surface, boosting ball speed while supporting the low/back CG position for improved launch conditions. Finally, Simple Adjustability is offered through a lightweight aluminum hosel sleeve, allowing players to fine-tune their launch conditions by adjusting the loft +/- 1°.
