The Tech Story
The Ping 2016 G SF Tec Driver employs several cutting-edge technologies aimed at maximizing forgiveness, distance, and slice correction. Key to its design is the Dragonfly Technology, a biomimicry-inspired process that created ultra-thin sections in the Ti 8-1-1 head's crown, successfully repositioning eight grams of mass to achieve an Extreme Low/Back Center of Gravity (CG); this deep CG placement elevates the Moment of Inertia (MOI) on both axes, resulting in high launch, low spin, and extreme forgiveness. Furthermore, aerodynamic improvements like Crown Turbulators and Vortec Technology work together to minimize drag and reduce turbulent wake during the swing, which in turn boosts clubhead speed, ball velocity, and overall distance for all swing speeds. Completing the performance package, a lightweight, variable-thickness T9S Face promotes higher ball speeds across the hitting area, and a Simple Adjustability aluminum hosel sleeve allows golfers to fine-tune launch conditions by adjusting loft up to +/- 1°.
