Who’s It For?
The all new G LE2 series from PING, including the G LE2 driver, features an ultra-lightweight design with all kinds of forgiveness and distance enhancements. PING engineers also added adjustability in the form of a hosel with eight different loft and lie settings. The G LE2 driver is designed for women and moderate or slower swing speed golfers looking for added distance, launch, and forgiveness off the tee.
The Tech Story
PING’s original G LE lineup set a high expectations, but it appears as if the G LE2 products may exceed them. The clubhead of the G LE2 driver has been tweaked and made more aerodynamic, allowing golfers to increase clubhead speed during the downswing. Extra weighting has been added to the heel side of the clubhead, allowing the clubhead to turn over easier at the point of contact and prevent the block or slice miss. A thinner, stronger T9S+ clubface increases deflection energy, specifically on mis-hits, to increase forgiveness and MOI. Additionally, the ultra-lightweight ULT240 shaft increases club speed on the downswing and results in more distance. In terms of adjustability, the Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel sleeve allows for eight different loft and lie settings. Meanwhile, PING’s trademark turbulators on the crown aid in alignment, while the creased crown also increases stability at impact.
