Who’s It For?
Srixon’s metal wood game has dramatically improved over the past few years, and the new ZX woods take it to new heights. The Srixon ZX metal woods, including the ZX5 and ZX7 drivers, ZX fairway woods, and ZX hybrids, offer performance for every type of golfer with several technologies packed into the clubs. The Srixon ZX5 driver is designed to fit a wider range of golfers between the two driver models, designed to focus on high launch and forgiveness.
The Tech Story
Powering the Srixon ZX5 driver is the Rebound Frame, which focuses more energy into the golf ball at impact. It features a unique structure that works by layering alternating zones of stiff and flexible material in a concentric pattern. The clubface is made of an extremely flexible Ti51AF titanium alloy, which is surrounded by a more rigid perimeter. Then, Srixon implemented an additional ring of thin, flexible material right in front of the internal rib structure. This pattern of a flexible, rigid, flexible, and rigid material is designed to maximize energy transfer at impact. The carbon crown in each ZX driver is 15% larger than in previous generations and allows Srixon to reposition mass low, deep, and around the perimeter to increase MOI and forgiveness. The ZX5 also includes adjustability through an adjustable hosel sleeve with 12 unique loft and lie settings and adjustable sole weights that allows golfers to fine tune swingweight. Of the two ZX drivers, the ZX5 offers a larger footprint and a deeper center of gravity that launches the ball higher with a bit more forgiveness than the ZX7.
