Who’s It For

PING did significant market testing solely with junior golfers to develop its new Prodi G line of junior clubs to ensure that it was creating products that would provide optimal performance for players between the ages of 7 and 13. All of the Prodi G clubs that are available, from the putter to the driver, were created with the junior in mind, and significant time was devoted to swing weight, length, and lie angle to help young golfers develop the proper technique to play better golf. Prodi G junior clubs can be purchased individually or in packages ranging from five clubs to 11 clubs, and a Prodi G Hoofer stand bag is included with each package.

The Tech Story

PING’s Prodi G junior fairway woods, like the company’s G400 fairways, have been constructed using 17-4 stainless steel. The clubface was designed to maximize ball speed from all impact locations, while a lightweight crown design enabled weight to be moved low and deep in the clubhead, with the result being naturally high launch from a tee or the turf and improved stability at impact. Additionally, turbulators have been positioned on the crown of the Prodi G fairway wood to improve aerodynamics during the swing and help players maximize their swing speed.

PING’s “Get Golf Growing” program

To provide enhanced value for junior golfers and their parents, PING has instituted its “Get Golf Growing” program with the Prodi G junior golf clubs. To be eligible, customers must purchase a Prodi G package or a minimum of five individual clubs during the same transaction. Under those terms, consumer are entitled to send each club back one time to have it adjusted at no cost to fit a junior’s needs as he or she grows. Adjustments include re-shafting or lengthening the shaft, re-gripping, and re-weighting to ensure optimal performance. Each club that qualifies for the program can be adjusted at a different time based on need and there is no expiration date for the one-time adjustment. The customer will be responsible for shipping the club(s) to PING and the associated shipping costs; PING will handle the return shipping and costs. Turnaround times are expected to be one week upon receipt, and the program applies to Prodi G junior clubs only.
