The TaylorMade 2008 Burner Fairway Wood is engineered for easy, high launch and exceptional forgiveness by integrating several key weight-saving and shaping technologies. Its Dual Crown design weighs less than a typical crown, allowing the saved weight to be strategically redistributed to deliver an ultra-deep Center of Gravity (CG) location—35% lower than the previous Burner model—which promotes a higher launch. The club boasts the largest size and footprint of any TaylorMade steel fairway wood, contributing to a 6% increase in MOI (Moment of Inertia) over the previous model for greater forgiveness. This large, forgiving shape is achieved via the fast-looking triangular Burner head shape, while SuperFast technology completes the package with an overall lighter club weight, utilizing a lightweight 49-gram or 70-gram graphite shaft paired with a 44-gram ultra-light grip to maximize swing speed for added distance.
