The Tech Story

The TaylorMade R5 XL Fairway Wood is engineered to maximize forgiveness and promote a corrective ball flight. Its swing weight cartridge is positioned to concentrate mass in the rear-center-bottom of the clubhead, creating an extremely low and deep-back Center of Gravity (CG), which is crucial for making the club easier to launch. The club is also internally weighted to create a slight draw bias, actively promoting a subtle right-to-left ball flight to help counteract a slice. Enhancing overall performance is the Hyperlite XL shaft by Fujikura, an exceptionally lightweight shaft designed to promote higher clubhead speed for added distance.
