TaylorMade has risen to the top of the ranks in the golf industry, especially when it comes to metalwoods. Every year the golf community waits in eager anticipation for what TaylorMade will do next with drivers and fairway woods. In 2020, TaylorMade has transitioned away from the M family and introduced the SIM series. The SIM Max D-Type fairway wood is designed in a draw-biased, deep shape to help golfers who struggle with a slice or block miss to hit the ball longer and straighter. The SIM Max fairway wood offers the same benefits but without the draw bias, while the SIM Ti fairway wood features a slightly more compact shape

The Tech Story

Headlining the TaylorMade SIM Max D-Type fairway wood is the unique multi-material construction that consists of a steel body and a carbon crown. This construction has allowed TaylorMade to precisely position the center of gravity to achieve explosive distance, high launch, and low spin with a draw bias. This draw bias is created through the manipulation of divergent face and topline masking, center of gravity movement toward the heel, and a slightly reduced face progression. The SIM Max fairway wood also includes a C300 ultra-strong steel face that delivers exceptional performance and terrific sound and feel. Several other technologies are returning to the SIM fairway woods from previous models. Twist Face technology features a clubface that is slightly twisted in the heel and toe areas to combat those common misses. The Next Gen Speed Pocket has been specially designed for SIM to help with low-face mis-hits. The V Steel sole design, which was first introduced in the mid-2000s, reduces friction through the turf to improve performance from tight or difficult lies.
