The Tech Story
The TaylorMade RORS?PROTO iron set is engineered with a compact and stylish profile, prioritizing exceptional feel and maneuverability for skilled golfers. Constructed from premium 1025 carbon steel, each iron undergoes a meticulous multi-step forging process, ensuring precise shaping that contributes to enhanced feel and responsiveness upon impact. A key technological feature is the horizontally milled channel integrated into the cavity, which strategically redistributes mass along the vertical axis to optimize inertia and provide precise control over ball trajectory. Adding a touch of exclusivity, the back badge of each iron is engraved with ‘RORS·PROTO,’ while the hosel is machined with the word ‘FORGED’ accompanied by four colored dots that chronologically commemorate Rory McIlroy's major championship victories. Notably, the design of the 7-iron and 8-iron draws inspiration from the P·730 model, incorporating a thinner top line preferred by McIlroy for visual appeal, and uniquely, these irons feature TW2 grooves, borrowed from the P·7TW irons, which McIlroy believes offer superior spin performance when playing from the rough.
