Ping 1966 TR Anser Putter
Karsten Solheim, the founder of PING, brought to market a new putter design in 1966, which changed the art of putting forever. It was simply called the Anser, as to reassure the golfing professionals making the switch over his new design. Karsten ran out of room for the engraving of the name Answer on his putter, so he dropped the W, which gave way to the classic Anser putters. 50 years later his putter designs still hold the standard for head shapes. The PING 1966 TR Anser Putter features the classic design the put PING on the map with PING’s updated technology. The 1966 TR Anser has True-Roll (TR) Grooves, which have become a staple in PING’s production putters. The TR grooves vary in width and depth, which give PING putters unmatched distance control and accuracy, even on off center shots, to help you score low. The 1966 TR Anser is finished in a Manganese Bronze PVD, it has the coveted sound slot (which the name PING is derived), and doesn’t have any alignment aides like the original.
