Who’s It For?

TaylorMade’s putter development has made huge strides in recent years, and it’s evident with the release of the new Spider FCG putter. According to TaylorMade, the Spider FCG is designed to look like a mallet but feel like a blade. So, golfers that prefer the feel of a blade but would like the forgiveness of a mallet, especially a TaylorMade Spider, will like the performance of the Spider FCG putter. The Spider FCG is available with three different hosel types that will cater to three different levels of arc in putting strokes. The small slant hosel includes 46 degrees of toe hang, best for golfers with a strong arc. The L-neck has 25 degrees of toe hang to work for moderate arcs. The single bend hosel is face-balanced so that it will work for golfers with a straight-back, straight-through putting stroke.

The Tech Story

Headlining the TaylorMade Spider FCG putter is a new forward center of gravity placement. This front-loaded weight delivers the benefits and release of a blade-style putter, but with the MOI of a mallet. Additionally, heavy tungsten sole weights are positioned in the heel and toe to optimize the forward loading. The 25-gram Copper Pure Roll face insert delivers a firmer feel and sound while increasing topspin and improving forward roll. For alignment, the True Path T-Sightline is a perpendicular alignment aid that allows the player to align from front to back or heel to toe. And lastly, the KBS Stepless Stability Shaft features a new black CT Tour putter shaft for less deflection.
