TaylorMade Spider S Platinum Single Bend Putter
Who’s It For?
TaylorMade’s Spider putters have been delivering exceptional stability and forgiveness to golfers for years, and TaylorMade continues to evolve its Spider line by adding new features without sacrificing that high MOI. The new Spider S model, introduced in 2021, delivers the same performance and feel golfers have to come to love from TaylorMade, but with amplified alignment aids to ensure golfers are set up properly at address. The Spider S Single Bend model is face-balanced and has no toe hang, so it is best suited for golfers with slight arc or no arc at all in their putting strokes.
The Tech Story
The technology driving the performance in the Spider S putters includes many similar features to other models in the Spider family. The multi-material design includes heavy tungsten and lightweight aluminum to create optimal stability. That heavy tungsten is placed in the far back of the clubhead and not only stabilizes the putter, but it produces the deepest center of gravity of any putter in the Spider family. Depending on the shaft length and hosel, that back weight will range anywhere from 40 grams to 70 grams to create the ideal weighting. Golfers will also find White True Path technology on the clubhead, which consists of an “arrow” alignment design that is the same width as a golf ball allowing golfers to easily center the clubhead at address. And finally, TaylorMade’s signature White TPU Pure Roll insert provides a soft feel with grooves positioned at a 45-degree angle to promote forward roll.
