Who’s It For?

TaylorMade’s rise in popularity as a putter manufacturer has been largely credited to its development of modern mallets over the years, specifically the Spider models. However, TaylorMade’s TP putters have also struck a chord with many golfers. New from TaylorMade is the TP Patina series, which features similar models to previous TP series with updated technology and a new patina finish that combines black nickel and copper. The TP Patina Soto model is a blade with 47 degrees of toe hang, which will work best for golfers with significant arc in their putting strokes.

The Tech Story

The TP Patina putter series from TaylorMade includes similar technology to past TP products, but it has been updated to provide better performance. The new aluminum Pure Roll face insert, which is designed to optimize roll and topspin at impact, has been increased to five millimeters wide to improve sound and feel. The Pure Roll face insert has also been securely fastened by two screws inside the cavity, creating a tight bond that minimizes voids or air pockets underneath the insert for more solid feel. TaylorMade has also implemented an adjustable weight system to allow golfers to find the weighting that best suits their strokes. While each stock length comes with weights unique to a specific swing weight, additional weights of 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15, and 20 grams are available separately. The KBS CT Tour Stepless putter shaft found in every TP Patina putter offers a stiff structure that results in less twisting at impact. The premium patina finish combines black nickel and copper to reveal a unique, clean, and old school appearance that oxidizes over time. The TP Patina Del Monte model is a blade with 47 degrees of toe hang, which is best for golfers with considerable arc in their putting strokes.
