The Tech Story

The Titleist Scotty Cameron 2025 Phantom Black 9.2R Putter, with its "R" denoting "round," is a brand-new, tour-inspired mallet designed with purposefully rounded contours for a softer, more flowing aesthetic than the standard Phantom 9, a direct result of tour player feedback. Its unique plumbing neck is positioned further towards the heel and is slightly shorter than a traditional plumbing neck, providing the ideal amount of toe hang for a natural, flowing stroke. A tour-inspired short single line alignment creates the illusion of a traditional topline while precisely indicating face center. This model is crafted from 303 stainless steel with a 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum sole component, all finished in Scotty's Tour Black finish—a durable PVD treatment on the stainless steel and a misted, anodized black aluminum sole, specifically developed to reduce sun glare. Further enhancing performance, the Phantom Black 9.2R features a custom sight line accented in light gray for expert setup, chain-link face milling technology for softer sound, tour-preferred roll, and preserved feel, and performance-balanced weighting with two customizable stainless steel heel-toe sole weights.
