In 2020, Callaway built the Big Bertha irons with Flash Face technology, designed with Artificial Intelligence, so golfers will get more ball speed with contact made all over the clubface, not just in the center. The Bertha shaping includes noticeably wider soles and increases offset in order to bring the center of gravity down and improve launch. Additionally, Callaway added tungsten weighting to the Tungsten Energy Core in an effort to deepen the center of gravity even more while maintaining ball speed generated by the Flash Face Cup. And finally, patented urethane microspheres have been packed into the clubhead to absorb unwanted vibrations for superb feel.
