TaylorMade Stealth UDI Utility Iron
Who’s It For?
TaylorMade’s new Stealth UDI and DHY play as utility irons that are designed to provide explosive distance and high ball speeds for golfers. While they share similar design characteristics and features, the shape of each model delivers notable performance differences. The Stealth UDI is designed with a tour-inspired shape and a traditional look at address, both of which will appeal to better players who like to work the ball and keep spin low.
The Tech Story
The TaylorMade Stealth UDI and TaylorMade Stealth DHY are powered by SpeedFoam Air technology, which consists of a unique material inside the clubhead that allows for a fast, flexible face design. Compared to the original SpeedFoam, SpeedFoam Air is 69% less dense, which allowed weight to be redistributed for better launch conditions. Additionally, TaylorMade’s Thru-Slot Speed Pocket delivers more face flexibility and ball speed retention on shots struck low on the clubface. Overall, the forged hollow body construction with an ultra-thin forged 4140 face and Inverted Cone Technology provides a large sweet spot for maximum distance, playability, and forgiveness. Of the two models, the Stealth UDI’s smaller footprint and more forward center of gravity make it best for skilled golfers seeking workability and low spin.
