The focus for PING in creating its new Prodi G junior line of clubs was to deliver golfers between the ages of 7 and 13 with clubs that they could count on to provide exceptional performance and help them develop proper swing techniques. To ensure that goal was met, PING did significant testing with junior golfers, and it believes that when it comes to technology, swing weight, lie angle, and length, that Prodi G will provide juniors with an option that exceeds all else in the marketplace.
One of the exciting aspects of the Prodi G junior line is that it features many of the technologies that PING is utilizing in its most popular “adult” products. As an example, the Prodi G junior driver is fully titanium and features Dragonfly Technology and Turbulators on the crown. That combination will help produce impressive ball speeds and naturally high launch conditions. The Prodi G fairway wood and hybrid, meanwhile, were designed to provide high MOI and the ability to launch the ball with the ease from the turf, and the 17-4 stainless steel that was used to construct the clubface and body promotes higher ball speeds from all impact points.
As for the Prodi G irons, they also have been constructed from 17-4 stainless steel to help promote ball speed and launch, and their cavity back design allowed weight to be pushed to the perimeter to provide better results on off-center strikes. Additionally, a CTP insert has been positioned behind the face to help improve sound and feel at impact. The Prodi G wedges also feature CTP inserts to deliver exceptional feel and acoustics, and they have been modeled after PING’s Glide wedges to promote optimal spin and short game versatility.
And finally, the putter that’s being offered in the new Prodi G line is the Voss, which is a traditional blade design. In its research, PING found that juniors who putt using a blade learn to find the center of the face more often and also develop improved feel at an early age, which is of course a vitally important part of the game.
In addition to offering exceptional performance, customers will have incredible options when it comes to Prodi G junior golf clubs. They can be purchased individually or in one of four unique packages that PING is offering, ranging from five clubs to 11 clubs. Additionally, a PING Prodi G Hoofer stand bag is included with each of the four packages.
In terms of the specific packages being offered, the “P” package includes a fairway wood, 7-iron, 9-iron, sand wedge, and putter and is recommended for golfers who are least 4-foot-5, while the “I” package includes a driver, fairway wood, 6-iron, 8-iron, pitching wedge, sand wedge, and putter and is recommended for golfers who are least 4-foot-9. Both the “P” and the “I” package come with regular flex junior shafts as the stock option.
Moving on to the “N” package, like the “I” package, it also includes a driver, fairway wood, 6-iron, 8-iron, pitching wedge, sand wedge, and putter, but it features stiff flex junior shafts and is recommended for golfers who are least 4-foot-11. And finally, the “G” package is the most comprehensive of the packages offered and features 11 clubs, including a driver, fairway wood, hybrid, 6-iron through PW, gap wedge, sand wedge, and putter. The “G” package is recommended for players who are least 5-foot-2 and features stiff flex junior shafts.
In an effort to make Prodi G a better investment for junior players and their parents, PING has also introduced a new program that it’s calling “Get Golf Growing.” The program has been designed to help players utilize their clubs for a longer period of time and ensure that they continue to fit juniors as they grow. For more on this initiative and how it works, see below.
To provide enhanced value for junior golfers and their parents, PING has instituted its “Get Golf Growing” program with the Prodi G junior golf clubs. To be eligible, customers must purchase a Prodi G package or a minimum of five individual clubs during the same transaction. Under those terms, consumer are entitled to send each club back one time to have it adjusted at no cost to fit a junior’s needs as he or she grows.
Adjustments include re-shafting or lengthening the shaft, re-gripping, and re-weighting to ensure optimal performance. Each club that qualifies for the program can be adjusted at a different time based on need and there is no expiration date for the one-time adjustment.
The customer will be responsible for shipping the club(s) to PING and the associated shipping costs; PING will handle return shipping and costs. Turnaround times are expected to be one week upon receipt, and the program applies to Prodi G junior clubs only.
