Robert MacIntyre's Winning Bag | 2024 RBC Canadian Open
With his dad on his bag, Robert MacIntyre picked up his first career PGA Tour win with a one-stroke victory at the RBC Canadian Open, becoming the first Scotsman to win the event in nearly 100 years.
MacIntyre’s winning setup features an interesting mix of brands at the top of his bag, with three different manufacturers represented.

Driver: Titleist TSR2
Shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7X
MacIntyre starts his bag off with a Titleist TSR2 driver. He plays it at 9 degrees with the D4 SureFit hosel setting and plays it with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7X shaft. The TSR2 is a higher launching, more forgiving option among the TSR models, and that helped Bobby Mac find plenty of fairways during his win. He hit 35 of 56 fairways, which was tied for 14th best. While the TSR2 might not be as low of spinning as the TSR3 or TSR4, MacIntyre still had plenty of distance with it, averaging 312.4 yards off the tee, which was 13th best in the field. That combination of accuracy and distance helped MacIntyre finish 28th in Strokes Gained off the Tee, gaining over a stroke on the field from the tee box.
3-wood: Cobra Aerojet LS
Shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8X
Moving down the bag to the fairway wood, where MacIntyre plays just a 3-wood, and opted for a Cobra Aerojet LS. He plays it at 14.5 degrees with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8X shaft in it. The Aerojet LS is a generation old now, but still packs plenty of pop, especially with the LS model which is designed for players seeking lower-spin and more workability. This gave MacIntyre another option off the tee when needed, but also plenty of distance to attack any par 5 in two with.
Hybrid: TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue
Shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD DI 105X
MacIntyre pairs his 3-wood with a 19 degree TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue, and plays it with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 105X shaft in it. This gives him another longer option to attack greens with, but one with more loft, higher flight and more stopping power. The Stealth 2 core model gives MacIntyre the best of both worlds, still plenty of ball speed but with a touch more forgiveness than using the lower-spinning Stealth 2 Plus.
Irons: Titleist 620 CB (4-9)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100
We move to MacIntyre’s irons, where he goes back to Titleist, playing the 620 CB’s for his 4 through 9 irons. For most of the tournament, MacIntyre’s irons were one of the weaker parts of his game, as he finished 39th in Strokes Gained Approach to Green for the tournament. But they answered the call when he needed them most in Sunday’s final round where he gained over 2 strokes on the field, and finished 5th on the day in Strokes Gained. That included the shot that essentially clinched the tournament on 18, where he stuck an iron shot from 183 yards to 9 feet of the pin, which he would two-putt en route to victory.
Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design SM10 (46-10F), SM9 (50-08F, 56-10S), WedgeWorks (60-08K)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Onyx X100 Onyx (46, 50), Dynamic Gold S400 Onyx (56, 60)
MacIntyre stays with Titleist for his wedges, playing a mixture of Vokey’s. He goes with an SM10 46 degree rather than a traditional pitching wedge, then goes back a generation for his gap and sand wedge, playing the Vokey SM9’s for each. For his lob wedge, he stays with Vokey, but goes with a WedgeWorks 60 degree. Much like his irons, his wedge play into greens was good, but not great, but they were great around the green, helping him finish in a tie for 12th in scrambling, converting 14 of his 21 up-and-down opportunities, and led him to an 8th place finish in Strokes Gained Around the Green. His wedges also provided a needed shot on the back 9 of his final round. On the par 4 15th, MacIntyre’s lead was down to two strokes, and after bogeys at 12 and 13, he needed something to change the momentum of his round, and that’s where his wedge play came in handy. After finding the fairway on 15, Bobby had 90 yards into the green. After watching Ben Griffin stuff his 2nd shot in for a kick-in birdie, MacIntyre responded by putting his wedge to less than 6 feet, and he would make the ensuing birdie, keeping his two-stroke lead heading into the final three holes.
Putter: TaylorMade Spider Tour
Grip: SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 1.0P Claw
If you want to point to the club that won MacIntyre his first PGA Tour tournament, it would be his putter, a TaylorMade Spider Tour. MacIntyre averaged 1.61 putts when he found the green in regulation, which led the tournament. His total of 108 feet of putts made was 2nd best in the field. That combination helped him lead the tournament in Strokes Gained Putting, as he gained over 11 strokes on the field from the putting surface. Not only was he consistently good all tournament, but he made the putts when he needed them, including a clutch birdie on 15 as mentioned previously, and a clutch par on 17 that kept him one-up heading to the 72nd hole.
