The Tech Story

TaylorMade’s trademark Twist Face technology, made famous initially in the M3 and M4 drivers, has been included in the M5 fairway wood. The clubface is slightly opened along the toe and slightly closed along the heel to decrease the negative consequences of the heel and toe miss-hits. The result is maximum forgiveness and an extremely hot hitting zone all across the club face. The adjustable weighting system on the M5 has been updated thanks to weight savings from a five-layer composite crown an new titanium body of the club head. The adjustable weight system features a 65-gram movable steel weight, which is just over 30 percent of the total clubhead weight. The result is generous trajectory adjustability, whether it be draw or fade, and a lower CG position that promotes higher launch and lower spin than previous TaylorMade fairway woods. The updated adjustability tools also produce a more efficient sole contour, which creates better interaction with the turf for more crisp contact on each shot. Additionally, the M5 features a more streamlined 12-position hosel loft sleeve for customization of loft and lie angle.
