Who’s It For?

Cobra has been an industry leader when it comes to game improvement irons, and the SpeedZone irons released in 2020 are no exception. The SpeedZone irons combine several successful technologies from past models with optimized construction to deliver tremendous distance and high launch. Mid- to high-handicap golfers looking for forgiveness and easy launch from their irons will be a great fit for the SpeedZone irons. Cobra has also released One Length SpeedZone irons, which offer the same clubhead construction but with shafts at the same length (37 ½ inches) for each club to promote a repeatable setup and swing, resulting in solid contact more consistently.

The Tech Story

The SpeedZone irons feature an updated construction that has dropped more weight low and to the perimeter to improve forgiveness and launch. Cobra engineers have added a carbon fiber topline to each club, which is 40 percent lighter than steel. This creates three grams of saved weight that has been redistributed to optimize the center of gravity for easier launch. Meanwhile, the Speedback shape includes extreme heel and toe weighting that further drops the center of gravity and increases MOI to deliver improved performance on mis-hits. The SpeedZone irons also include PWRSHELL Technology, which consists of a face insert that is forged with a larger thin pocket from heel to toe to enhance ball speed. These irons are also built progressively so that the long irons are easier to launch into the air while the shorter irons offer more control.
