Who’s It For?

Callaway Golf is framing the future of speed with the new Epic drivers, available in 2021. The use of Artificial Intelligence has proven successful in the past couple of generations of Callaway drivers, so the company invested more into A.I. in order to further maximize performance. The Epic Max model is designed for maximum forgiveness and high launch for golfers that may need extra help launching the ball higher or often miss the center of the clubface. The Epic Speed driver will fit most golfers and is designed for maximum speed, while the Epic Max LS provides a combination of forgiveness and low spin.

The Tech Story

In addition to Artificial Intelligence, Jailbreak Technology has been exceptional in driving the performance of Callaway drivers in the past few generations. With that said, Callaway saw an opportunity to also use A.I. to further improve Jailbreak. The result is the new Jailbreak Speed Frame. Prior Jailbreak construction consisted of two internal vertical bars. The new Jailbreak Speed Frame expands to cover more area inside the clubface and provide horizontal stability in addition to vertical stability. This increases ball speeds on contact made all across the clubface. Speaking of the clubface, the A.I.-designed Flash Face is specifically engineered to work with the Jailbreak Speed Frame to deliver the explosive distance. Callaway’s proprietary Triaxial carbon material covers a large portion of the crown, which created over 16 grams of weight savings (compared to a titanium crown) that has been redistributed to optimize performance. In the Epic Max, the weight savings are distributed low and deep to create a deep center of gravity that is also positioned slightly toward the heel to add draw bias. Additionally, golfers are able to utilize an adjustable 17-gram weight for up to 20 yards of shot shape correction.
